The event celebrates the ancient agricultural New Year’s Eve, a very important day in peasant civilization which marked the beginning of the agricultural year, the entry of sharecroppers into the new land at the end of the land processing cycle, the effective date of the agrarian contracts.

The event enhances the typical products and artistic craftsmanship of the municipal area: DOC wine “Monte dello Scudo”, cheeses, honey, mushrooms, Montescudo potatoes, terracotta and Romagna rust print, as well as the companies that produce them, united in the Consortium of the “Flavors of Montescudo and Monte Colombo”.

On this occasion it is also possible to buy the “Pagnotta di San Martino”, made with products from the autumn season, from an ancient and secret recipe handed down in the restricted area of ​​the Parish of Monte Colombo. The loaf is recognized as a traditional agri-food product by the Emilia-Romagna Region.

 The event, organized in Monte Colombo, takes place every third weekend of July. In the village it is possible to taste tripe, strozzapreti, piadina, cold cuts and much more. A weekend dedicated to tasting the typical products of Romagna and many entertainment opportunities.

The event takes place in Montescudo every second weekend of August to celebrate the potato, a typical product recognized by the Emilia-Romagna region. Food stands are set up in the historic center to allow you to taste many potato-based specialities: gnocchi, cod, cold salad with potatoes, beans and onions, French fries and desserts such as fried donuts and potato-based ice cream, rigorously homemade by the volunteers of the Pro Loco
